Thanks so much. Yes, Nazi defeat came from a thousand different reasons. Hitler's biggest mistake was probably giving up on England and turning toward Russia in the first place. I just love the absurdity, though, of his declaring war on U.S. when he was fully engaged at the gates of Moscow.

Yes, what are the odds? I had some good friends in Ada, although not Guderians. I wonder if those descendants resulted from the hundreds (maybe thousands) of German POWs who got moved into middle America, including Oklahoma and Texas, during the war.
